Children’s Occupational Therapy

What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy (OT) can help a child navigate tasks necessary for daily functioning like chores around the house, activities of daily living, and personal care responsibilities. Often, children with disabilities or motor coordination difficulties may have trouble doing these things – making it hard for them to do age-appropriate activities.

Autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, and learning disabilities are just some conditions we help treat at Excellence Rehab.

Some examples of skills that our occupational therapists can work with children and teens on are:

What to Expect

Our pediatric occupational therapists work with patients to determine their strengths and weaknesses in all developmental areas. Each patient receives an independently curated treatment plan, with our therapists creating interventions that directly reflect the challenges the patient is experiencing.

Not only do we aim to assist children in developing strong sensory processing, coordination, and cognitive skills, but we also aim to strengthen their confidence. At Excellence Rehab, we celebrate each milestone our pediatric patients accomplish!

Children’s occupational therapy is beneficial to any child that is experiencing physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges.
