What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy (PT) helps children to develop the skills they need to be able to get around their environment with ease, helping with strength, mobility, endurance, balance, and coordination. PT also helps to reduce pain and create a more stable recovery from injuries to various parts of the body.

Our therapists work with several different conditions and mobility issues such as:

What can I expect during a visit?

No matter the reason a child or teen may need PT, it is always beneficial when done the right way. At Excellence Rehab, promoting healthy recovery and development are our top priorities.

During the first appointment, the physical therapist will perform a complete assessment that takes into account the complete health of the child. We will focus on strengthening a patient’s skills through one-on-one interaction, emphasizing the importance of targeted interventions for an injury or diagnosed condition.

In addition to getting treatment, our therapists also with both the patient and their families on education about their treatment. This way, you and your child can continue the recovery process outside of the PT appointment.
